Paso Robles Bachelorette Weekend Itinerary: The Perfect Girls’ Getaway!

This post may contain affiliate links wherein I earn a small commission if you purchase or subscribe to a product from one of my links (at no extra cost to you!). Read my full Privacy Policy here.

Paso Robles is the perfect destination in California for a bachelorette weekend away, especially if you are a wine lover! I have now attended exactly three bachelorette weekend getaways, two of which I did most of the planning for. Can I consider myself a bachelorette expert now?! Maybe for low-key weekend getaways with a small group – just like this one that I’m about to lay out for you.

I most recently visited Paso Robles with a group of girls for my friend Heather’s bachelorette weekend and I think I came up with a well-balanced, fun, and unique itinerary. If you’re looking for some inspo for planning your own Paso Robles bachelorette weekend itinerary, I hope this post will give you some good ideas!

Getting to Paso Robles

Paso Robles is located along California’s Central Coast (well, technically it’s about a 40-minute drive from the beach, but it is considered “coastal”). Due to it’s location, Paso Robles is easy to reach from both Northern or Southern California with a moderate road trip. If you’re coming from out of state, you could consider flying into the San Luis Obispo airport (which is only about 30 minutes away) and rent a car.

  • Drive from Los Angeles: 205 miles (about 3 hours & 20 minutes)
  • Drive from San Francisco: 205 miles (about 3 hours & 15 minutes)
  • Drive from Sacramento: 262 miles (about 4 hours)
  • Drive from San Luis Obispo: 31 miles (about 30 minutes)

What to Pack for Paso

Below are some musts that I think you should pack for a trip to Paso Robles. I left a few pertinent things out on purpose to place them under the bachelorette gift bag section after this one.

  • Jacket for cool Paso nights (even though its 40 minutes from the ocean, the cool breeze lingers in the mornings and comes back in the evenings)
  • Bottled water – When in wine country, I always recommend having extra water on hand to keep hydrated!
  • Sunscreen for summer days
  • Hair ties – For this itinerary specifically, there’s an activity that you may need these for…
  • Wine bottle opener (most places generally come with one, but can’t hurt to have a backup just in case!)

Bachelorette Gift Bags

What’s a good bachelorette weekend without some goodie bags?! Here are some great ideas that I’ve both received as gifts and purchased myself. You could ask for people to contribute one or more items to share costs, or build the bags all on your own.

  • Tshirts (They don’t have to be these specific ones, but something wine-country related would be fun! I got these for our group since the wedding happens to be in Hawaii so they will get double use)
  • Gift Bags
  • Under eye masks/patches
  • Chapstick
  • Personalized plastic wine glasses (I’m a fan of plastic because when people get tipsy, you don’t have to worry about any broken glasses)
  • Bachelorette-themed plastic cups
  • Fanny packs
  • Liquid IV packets (These are a necessity, whether or not you put gift bags together)
  • Sunglasses for bride and the I-Do Crew
  • Hangover treats

Where to Stay in Paso Robles

Since we were traveling in a group, it was more cost effective to get a house rental versus a hotel. I scoured VRBO and Airbnb to find the perfect property for us based on these important factors: location (proximity to downtown), cost, and size (enough beds for our group plus at least two bathrooms to share).

I finally settled on the historic Hatch House Victorian located just one block away from the heart of downtown Paso Robles! This meant we could easily walk to dinner and/or anywhere in downtown without having to worry about driving and parking.

The Hatch House has three beds (one king in the master downstairs, plus two queens upstairs) and a couch, along with two and a half bathrooms. The max occupancy for this house is six people so if you have a larger group than that, you’ll have to check other available rentals.

Here were some other picks I considered:

  • 16th Street Retreat (great budget option)
  • Olive Gate Guest House (two blocks from downtown!)
Book the hatch victorian

I typically like to book on VRBO as they have more generous cancellation policies, but this property is also available on Airbnb.

Bachelorette Itinerary: Day 1

The first day of our Paso Robles bachelorette itinerary had us on a road trip down to Paso from the Bay Area, making it just in time for a pasta-filled lunch at Etto Pasta Bar. We explored a bit around Tin City, did some wine tasting, and headed to our historic VRBO rental to check in and get some bachelorette decorations up!

We ended the evening with a delicious dinner at Fish Gaucho before heading to bed early so we would be refreshed for our next day’s activity! A very solid and fun-filled day to kick off our weekend.

Day 1 Highlights

  • Drive to Paso Robles
  • Lunch at Etto Pasta Bar
  • Tin City wine tasting
  • Check into VRBO rental, decorate & enjoy happy hour at the house
  • Dinner at Fish Gaucho
  • Get to bed at a reasonable hour!

Lunch at Etto Pasta Bar

Etto | 3070 Limestone Way Suite B, Paso Robles, CA 93446

Etto Pasta Bar is one of the few restaurants in the Tin City area and I thought it was the perfect spot to kick off our time in Paso Robles! We all ordered different pastas to fill up on (the Gamberi fra Diavolo with shrimp and ndjua was delish); shared a delicious chopped salad; and raised our glasses of Etto Spritz’ to get the party started. We also ordered two beautiful and tasty desserts to share, which was more than enough for the four of us.

Gamberi fra Diavolo
Pomodoro with Burrata

The restaurant is counter service, which means you walk in and order first before finding your seat. They’ll hand you a number for the table and bring your food out when it’s ready. There is plenty of seating indoors, as well as a cute outdoor patio in the back.

Another solid option for a more casual lunch would be the food truck parked at BarrelHouse Brewing.

Tin City Wine Tasting

After lunch, we left it up to the bride as to what she wanted to do next. Wine tasting it was! If you have a crew that isn’t super into wine, you could also head over to BarrelHouse for cold beers and seltzers or to Tin City Cider for a flight.

The nice thing about Tin City is that you can park once and walk around to everything else!

Since we visited on a Friday afternoon, the tasting rooms weren’t super busy and we were able to walk in and get tastings without reservations. If you have somewhere specific you want to visit, however, I would recommend checking their reservation policy ahead of time.

sans liege

Sans Liege Wines | 2995 Limestone Way, Paso Robles, CA 93446

I chose Sans Liege since it was near the cluster of BarrelHouse Brewing, Tin City Cider, and Negranti Creamery, just so the girls could see all the different options that were available in one compact area. Sans Liege also had great ratings, along with outdoor tables to sit at and enjoy our tasting. They did have some nice reds, my favorite being their Pickpocket Grenache, and our server was friendly and knowledgeable!

Tasting fee: $25 waived with two bottle purchase.

onx

Onx Wines | 2910 Limestone Way, Paso Robles, CA 93446

Next up was Onx, just a few minutes’ walk from where we were at at Sans Liege. Onx was actually on my winery wish list, so I’m glad we chose this one! I loved all of the wines here and they have a lovely tasting room, both indoors as well as their outdoor covered patio. Their bottle art was also gorgeous and very unique – I wanted to get more bottles just for the labels!

Here, my favorites were the lighter wines – particularly the Field Day (97% Sauvignon Blanc, 3% Viognier) and their Tracing Paper (Rose of Tempranillo). Perfect wines to carry you through summer!

Tasting fee: $25 waived with two bottle purchase

Check In & Decorate

Next, it was time to check into our historic VRBO rental. Since we had a bit of time to kill before dinner, we went ahead and threw up some bachelorette decorations and put out our gift bags for the weekend to make things more festive! This was also the perfect opportunity for some pre-dinner cocktails.

Dinner at Fish Gaucho

Fish Gaucho | 1244 Park St, Paso Robles, CA 93446

For dinner on our first night, I chose Fish Gaucho in downtown Paso which serves elevated Mexican food. It’s probably one of the most popular restaurants in town (and for good reason), so reservations are highly recommended.

I’ve been to Fish Gaucho previously and I knew the food would be delicious! The Short Rib Enchiladas and Short Rib Tacos were two winning dishes – very rich but amazing in flavor. Two girls also got the Chile Verde de Gaucho, which I recommended based on our previous visit. Consistently one of the best dishes here.

They also have a nice selection of craft cocktails particularly focused on tequila and mezcal.

After dinner, we sat around the firepit on the patio for a bit before turning in a bit early so we would be refreshed for Day Two!

Bachelorette Itinerary: Day 2

Day two of our Paso Robles bachelorette weekend primarily focused on a fun and unique wine tour with Central Coast Jeep Tour Adventures! With our tour, we visited three different wineries, had a picnic style lunch, and got to see some of the backroads of Paso Robles.

Instead of going out for dinner on our second night, we had a hearty charcuterie spread and sat out by the fire for most of the evening. It was nice and relaxing after a long day!

Day 2 Highlights

  • Quick breakfast of bagels & cream cheese
  • Vintage Jeep Wine Tour, including three winery visits and lunch!
  • Charcuterie dinner at our vacation house
  • An evening by the fire

Breakfast & Hydrate

Before heading out for our wine tour, we filled up on bagels and cream cheese and coffee, and we all made sure to get a Liquid IV packet in before setting off on the tour.

Vintage Jeep Wine Tour

Our big event for the day was a very cool wine tour with Central Coast Jeep Tour Adventures! This was such a fun twist on a traditional wine tour, getting to ride around Paso Robles in the pack of a bright orange vintage Jeep for the day.

On our tour, we visited three wineries: Sculpterra, Hunt Cellars, and HammerSky Vineyards. Also included in our tour were discounted wine tastings and a picnic lunch from Red Scooter Deli.

  • Stop 1: Sculpterra Winery – A great first stop with lovely wine and a very unique property with a ton of amazing animal sculptures. After our tasting, we had the chance to wander the grounds to check out all of the art.
  • Stop 2: Hunt Cellars – A low-key winery serving small batch, aged wines. This is also where we chose to have our picnic lunch! Not my favorites wines of the day, but they had a really unique Sauvignon Blanc Port that made the entire visit worth it. Our lunch from Red Scooter was also delicious (highly recommend the Turkey Club Wrap).
  • Stop 3: HammerSky Vineyards – Our final stop was the most scenic! They also had the best (and most expensive) wine of the day. It was a beautiful spot to end our time on the tour and we had a great host here!

I wrote a whole separate post with all the details on how our Jeep tour went, so be sure to give that a read!

Charcuterie Dinner

This was not our first bachelorette rodeo and we figured that we’d probably be a little beat after a day of wine tasting. So, one of the girls put out a nice snack spread (thank you Nicole!) for us to enjoy when we got back from our wine tour. It was plenty of food to fill us up so that we didn’t need to go out to dinner that night. As much as I enjoy going out to eat, I absolutely love that I have friends who were okay with a low-key night in.

If you are wanting a night on the town, I would suggest checking out the Alchemist’s Garden. There’s also a Tiki Lounge downtown!

Bachelorette Itinerary: Day 3

Before heading back home after a fun weekend, we made sure to stop in town and get some cookies from the Brown Butter Cookie Co., which is a regional favorite. We also had some lunch and grabbed a coffee before hitting the road.

Day 3 Highlights

  • Pack up
  • Head to downtown Paso and explore
  • Stop in at Brown Butter Cookie Co.
  • Lunch at Jeffry’s Wine Country BBQ
  • Coffee at Spearhead
  • Head home!

Brown Butter Cookie Co

Brown Butter Cookie Co. | 801 12th St, Paso Robles, CA 93446

The Brown Butter Cookie Co. is must-try when in the area. Their original Brown Butter Sea Salt Cookies are so delicious! If you aren’t sure if they are the right kind of cookies for you, they do hand out samples so you can try them for yourself. They are a more dry cookie that crumbles when you bite into it (not chewy), but in a good way! I’ve tried a few of their other styles of cookies as well, but the original still remains my favorite.

Lunch at Jeffry’s Wine Country BBQ

Jeffry’s | 819 12th St, Suite B, Paso Robles, CA 93446

Next up was lunch at Jeffry’s Wine Country BBQ. Why lunch and not brunch? Brunch is typically pretty popular in Paso (especially on the weekends) so you might have a bit of a wait depending on the spot you choose (check out TASTE Craft Eatery if you have your heart set on brunch). Since it was around 11 a.m. on a Sunday when we were ready to eat, we figured lunch was perfectly acceptable.

I shared a sampler platter with one of the other girls that included brisket, ribs, mac and cheese, chili beans, and a sesame coleslaw. The ribs and coleslaw were my fav! I love a good tangy coleslaw that’s not mayo-based. Since we arrived right after opening, there were plenty of seats available too. No wait at all!

Jeffry’s was actually on my list as a backup for dinner on Day Two in case we felt like going out for something casual, so I’m glad we were able to make it before we left town.

Coffee/Tea at Spearhead

Spearhead Coffee | 619 12th St, Paso Robles, CA 93446

Before piling into the car for the journey back to the Bay Area, we stopped off at Spearhead for some coffee and a chai for myself. It was a nice little pick-me-up before the drive!

This Paso Robles bachelorette weekend was such a perfect getaway for our group. We got to eat some yummy food, go on a super cool wine adventure, and were just happy to celebrate our bride before her big day.

So what do you think – would you recreate this Paso Robles bachelorette itinerary yourself?!

Day 3 in Iceland! 🇮🇸 Our third day in Iceland was Day 3 in Iceland! 🇮🇸

Our third day in Iceland was a day trip to the Snaefellsnes Peninsula - aka "Iceland in Miniature." It was very windy and cold here but much less busy than the routes of the South Coast! We saw such a variety of landscapes on the peninsula, though I wish we would have had a little bit more daylight to add more stops.

Back in Reykjavik for the evening, we had dinner and then went on a successful Northern Lights chase!

It was a long day but awesome!

Year #42 In honor of my birthday today, here's a Year #42

In honor of my birthday today, here's a little something silly: my foodie version of the "Unfortunately, I do love" trend (in typical late-to-the-party fashion). In case you were wondering anything about my food habits, here's some insight!

In all seriousness, this last year was nothing short of epic. I used to be afraid of entering this decade of life, but each year continues to give and for that, I'm thankful.

Onward, ho!

Also, let me know if you share any of my quirky food habits 😉
🇮🇸 Day 2 in Iceland of a one-week Iceland itinerar 🇮🇸 Day 2 in Iceland of a one-week Iceland itinerary!

Our second day was all about exploring Iceland's capital city - Reykjavik! This is such a chill city that's worth exploring, especially for the food scene. I see a lot of people hit the ground running with their road trips right away, but I think easing into things with Reykjavik for a day was a good idea for us.

Here's everything we did on our second day in Iceland:

- Took the most incredible food tour with @reykjavikfoodwalk. My favorite things we ate were the fried lobster tacos and seafood soup at @sjavargrillid!

- We did try the notorious fermented shark (it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be) and a shot of Black Death (the original Brennivin aquavit) which wasn't bad either.

- Explored more of Reykjavik, including more mural spotting and hitting up happy hour spots and spending all our money on cocktails and beer (Iceland is pricey!).

- We visited a Big Lebowski-themed bar @lebowskibar! I love me a good themed restaurant or bar. I had my very first White Russian here and it was actually quite good.

- We had to stop by BrewDog Reykjavik which sadly closed permanently later in the week. We visit one wherever we travel to that has one for nostalgia purposes (and their beer is pretty good).

- Our night ended at the Posthus Food Hall (recommended by our food tour guide), where we had a lamb birria burrito and some bulgogi buns.

If you don't know, I am sort of a burrito addict - it's my favorite food. I will try one in any country I see one - good or bad (this one was actually really delicious!).

What do you think about spending a day in Reykjavik before venturing out to see all the nature sights?

Lamb is a big part of Iceland's food culture! You have to try at least one lamb hotdog when you visit. We had our first one at Bæjarins Beztu Pylsur in Downtown Reykjavik while on our food tour with @reykjavikfood and I think they're a great, affordable snack!

Would you travel to Iceland to eat hotdogs?

Curious about what to do on the day you land in Iceland? Here's what we did!

- Arrived to KEF airport around 9:30 a.m., hit up the duty free shop for some Brennivín, and picked up our rental car
- Stopped at @kokulistbakari for pastries to hold us over for a bit (amazing btw)
- Soaked in the Blue Lagoon (since it's not too far from the airport). It's relaxing but also helps keep you awake.
- Checked into our hotel @canopyreykjavik
- Went to happy hour at @bastard_reykjavik (the pretzel and cheese is a must!)
- Walked around the city to keep us awake and hit famous spots like the Skólavörðustígur rainbow road, Hallgrímskirkja church, and the Sun Voyager
- Had a nice dinner at @fiskfelagid

Not a bad start!

A moment for one of the best meals we had in Icela A moment for one of the best meals we had in Iceland at @fiskfelagid in Reykjavik!

This dinner was entirely seafood based; however, they do have some meat options on the menu if you aren't into things of the sea.

The ambiance in the restaurant was dark and cozy - perfect for an intimate dinner. Service = impeccable. Presentation of all of the dishes was perfection. Sauces were rich in flavor. Everything was so well done!

I had never had arctic char before, and that's the dish that drew me in. The fish was super delicate and smoky - really unique and incredibly tasty. My favorite dish, however, turned out to be the fishcakes! In fact, it's one of the top things we ate during our week in Iceland.

Highly, highly recommend putting this on your Iceland foodie bucket list!
