Craft breweries on Maui?! Yes indeed! Craft beer has really made its mark on Maui over the past several years. Maui now has three main craft breweries brewing beer on the island, along with some neighboring island breweries with spots popping up.
If you’re a craft beer fan, here’s a list of breweries to get craft beer on Maui.
Maui Brewing Company
Kihei & Kahana Locations

The pioneer of the Maui craft beer movement is, of course, Maui Brewing Company. Founded in 2005 by Garrett Marrero, Maui Brewing Co. was the first craft brewery on Maui (and was the only one for many years until Kohola showed up on the map).

Their brewery headquarters and production facility are now located in Kihei with a spacious taproom and open lanai beer garden that now serves some delicious pub grub. If you’re on the West Side of the island, they also have a taproom with full kitchen in Kahana.
Both locations of Maui Brewing have daily happy hour specials, and have logo wear Wednesday where you can enjoy $2 off beers all day when you wear your MBC gear.
If it’s your first time, be sure to get a flight of flagship or seasonal beers to see what you like best!
Tours at Maui Brewing
If you’re up for a tour of the production facility, they offer weekend tours between 11:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The cost is $20 per person and includes a 60-minute facility tour and a tasting of their flagship beers.
You can book tours through their website here.

Lahaina Brew Co. – Wailea
112 Wailea Ike Dr, Kihei, HI 96753

Originally founded as Kohola Brewery, they have since rebranded as Lahaina Brew Co. after losing their facility in Lahaina to the 2023 fire. They also opened up in a great spot in Wailea and now have a full kitchen with delicious food!
My favorite beers here are their Lahaina Haze IPA, but I have tried their mac nut stout too when available. I suggest pairing your beers with an unagi spam musubi, fish tacos, or their giant soft pretzel.

Lahaina Brew Co. – Upcountry
30 Kupaoa St #101, Makawao, HI 96768
https://lahainabrew.com/
Lahaina Brew Co.’s second location on Maui is the former Mahalo AleWorks taproom. While they serve flaship beers from the Kohola series, they do also have beers with that “upcountry” flare from partnering with Mahalo, like tropical IPAs and sours.
Pair a visit here with your trip to Haleakala or one of the many Upcountry Farms! Also, if you arrive at the brewery hungry, you’ll find the Upcountry Sausage Co. cart slinging out sausages and burgers on the patio, or you can order up a wood-fired pizza from nearby Marlow.

Waikiki Brewing
Locations in Lahaina and Wailea

Waikiki Brewing, which originated on O’ahu, has a location at The Shops at Wailea (South Maui). While we haven’t personally visited Waikiki Brewing yet, you can get your fill of all sorts of craft beers ranging from light lagers to specialty IPAs. They even serve beer cocktails, and have a full food menu to fill you up.
Ratings are mixed, but looks like that’s more for the food and service. I’ll pop in to Wailea soon to check it out.
Cheers!
